The project includes about 800 linear feet of barriers designed to protect emergency department entrances, loading areas and other critical access points.<\/p>\n<p>AquaFence has deployed similar systems at facilities including Tampa General Hospital. The system was used at TGH during Hurricane Helene, allowing the hospital to maintain operations through the storm. AquaFence provides modular systems designed for rapid deployment ahead of severe weather events.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tbbwmag.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Read the latest Tampa news and updates<\/a><\/p>\n<p>At Naples Comprehensive Health (NCH), AquaFence engineers are working with hospital emergency management and facilities teams to conduct deployment drills and train staff to assemble and operate the system. The installation allows hospitals to secure key areas quickly without interrupting daily operations.<\/p>\n<p>NCH said the added protection follows the flooding from Hurricane Ian in 2022, which affected exterior infrastructure and equipment but did not cause service disruptions or patient relocations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPreparedness is essential for healthcare systems operating in coastal regions,\u201d said Patrik Hansson, chief revenue officer at AquaFence. The system is designed to reduce risk to critical access points and support continued operations during severe weather.<\/p>\n<p>The health system operates two hospitals with a combined 713 beds.
