JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2013 The Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office is investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another in critical condition early Wednesday morning on Jacksonville\u2019s Westside. <\/p>\n
Deputies responded to Susie St. around 5:30 a.m. after two young adults \u2014 a man and a woman \u2014 were found shot in front of a home, according to JSO. <\/p>\n
Police say one of the two victims died at the hospital. The other remains in critical condition. JSO has not identified which victim died, saying next of kin has not yet been notified. <\/p>\n
Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident and say there is no additional threat to the surrounding community.<\/p>\n
JSO said some people at the scene were detained, but the suspect remains outstanding. <\/p>\n
Detectives are continuing to gather evidence and are asking anyone with information to come forward. <\/p>\n
