Wildfires are continuing to burn Tuesday morning across parts of Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. Here\u2019s a county-by-county update of the current conditions from the larger blazes that have already forced some to evacuate.<\/p>\n

8:00 PM:<\/p>\n

Due to active fire conditions and ongoing emergency response operations, multiple roadways are closed until further notice.<\/p>\n

Affected Areas:<\/p>\n

Highway 82 from Nahunta to Post Road<\/p>\n

Highway 110 West at Highway 32 down to the Camden County line <\/p>\n

Highway 259 from Highway 82 to the Camden County line<\/p>\n

Highway 32 \u2013 from Highway 110 to Post Road- <\/p>\n

These closures are in place for public safety and to allow emergency crews to operate effectively.<\/p>\n

7:20 PM<\/p>\n

Brantley County government urges residents to leave the following affected areas as a mandatory evacuation takes place:<\/p>\n

GA-110 (Yellow Pine Rd) to Thrower Rd Happy Hollow Drury Ln & Drury Ct Coffee County Club Rd From Thrower Rd to Mossy Oak<\/p>\n

If you are in these areas, evacuate immediately.<\/p>\n

5:22 PM | All Brantley County Schools will be closed tomorrow for students and staff.<\/p>\n

Brantley County School System said on social media<\/a>, \u201cThis decision has been made to ensure the safety of our students, families, and employees, and to allow our Brantley County families time and space to navigate the impacts of the fire. We know that many in our community have been directly affected, including some who have experienced the loss of their homes.\u201d<\/p>\n

3:45 PM | Evacuation orders in Brantley County now also include: Warners Landing, Oaks Woodlands, Atkinson Road, Godberry Lane, Brushing Creek, Fort Mcintosh to Highway 520 on both sides of the road.<\/p>\n

Shelters open include Little Memorial Church, Hortense Church of God, Southside Baptist Methodist Church, and the library.<\/p>\n

Roads closed include: 82 W&E Lanes, Browntown Road, Hawks Landing, Nahunta Red light to Glynn County, 259 & 110E, Warners Landing, Atkinson Road, Godberry Lane, Brushing Creek, Ft. McIntosh to Highway 520 (Both Sides).<\/p>\n

2 PM | A mandatory evacuation is in effect for Browntown Road and Hawks Landing in Brantley County. The Sheriff\u2019s Office said people should avoid Waynesville, Atkinson, and Lulaton. Waynesville Primary and Atkinson Elementary are being evacuated to the Brantley County Middle School Gym, BCSO said.<\/p>\n

9 AM | The Bostwick Library in Putnam County is closed Tuesday due to smoke in the area. The Palatka Library is open today at 601 College Rd, Palatka.<\/p>\n

8 AM | West Tocoi Road and Eagle Creek, north of Bostwick, are closed due to low visibility, according to the Putnam County Sheriff\u2019s Office<\/p>\n

8 AM | The U.S. Coast Guard issued a marine advisory for the St. Johns River due to zero visibility conditions on the water surrounding Bostwick and north into Clay. <\/p>\n

Northeast Florida<\/p>\n

Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Wilton Simpson and Florida Forest Service leadership did a news conference at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in Green Cove Springs<\/a>. *Watch it as it streamed on the Action News Jax YouTube channel below<\/p>\n

Baker CountySargent Fire – 2,523 acres, 81% contained Bradford CountyClay\/Putnam countiesRailroad Fire – 4,112 acres, 50% contained<\/p>\n

The following updates were shared by Clay County Fire Rescue just after 5 p.m. Tuesday:<\/p>\n

Decoy Road and Highway 17 are OPEN.Please avoid the area due to heavy smoke along the highway.There are no new voluntary evacuations at this time. Evacuations remain in place for Varney Road and Woodard Lane, and it is not yet safe to return to those areas.Do NOT fly drones over the fire or nearby water\u2014this interferes with emergency aircraft operations.Please do not travel to view the fire; conditions remain unsafe.Avoid boating on the St. Johns River, as aircraft are actively collecting water for firefighting efforts.Donations of prepackaged food and drinks for crews are appreciated and can be dropped off at the Clay County Fairgrounds Cattlemen\u2019s Arena through Thursday.The Call Center is available for questions at 877-CLAY-EOC.Putnam CountyPace Court Fire – 330 acres, 85% containedMondex 3 Fire – 250 acres, 80% containedNassau CountyConnor Nelson Road Fire – 500 acres, 80% containedSoutheast GeorgiaBrantley CountyHighway 82 Fire – 1,500 acres, 0% containedClinch CountyPineland Road Fire – 8,911 acres, 10% contained.\"\"<\/p>\n

Red Flag Warnings in Effect<\/p>\n

Drought conditions, low humidity, and winds have led to the National Weather Service issuing Red Flag Warnings for most of the inland regions in northeast, central, and southwest Florida, according to the Florida Forest Service. As wildfire dangers continue to grow, fire officials do not recommend any outdoor burning. As of Tuesday, 38 Florida counties are under county-wide burn bans.<\/p>\n

Donations being accepted for firefighters battling Clay County blaze<\/p>\n

Clay County Emergency Management is accepting donations for first responders at the Clay County Fairgrounds in front of Exhibit Hall 2. Donations are also being accepted at the Orange Park Town Hall.<\/p>\n

Items like water, sports drinks, snacks are being accepted.<\/p>\n

The county has opened a call center for any questions relating to the large fire. It\u2019s 877-252-9362.\u00a0<\/p>\n
