JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 One person is dead and another in critical condition following an early morning shooting on Jacksonville\u2019s Westside Wednesday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.<\/p>\n
Officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office responded around 5:30 a.m. to the 8200 block of Susie Street, a residential area, after receiving reports of a shooting.<\/p>\n
When officers arrived, they found two adult victims outside suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were taken to a local hospital, where one victim was pronounced dead and the other remained in critical condition, the sheriff’s office said in a news briefing Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Detectives with the agency\u2019s Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit are investigating the shooting. Authorities believe the incident is isolated and said there is no ongoing threat to the community.<\/p>\n
