MIAMI \u2014 Miami police say as a man arranged a meeting to sell a pricey Cartier watch off Facebook Marketplace, the prospective buyer said he couldn\u2019t go far; the 18-year-old sent him a photo of his ankle monitor.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not clear whether he knew that Jarmane Samuel Bradwell Jr. was wearing it after getting probation for a violent armed carjacking, but it apparently did not dissuade him from traveling to Bradwell\u2019s street in the city\u2019s Wynwood neighborhood to try to seal the deal Tuesday afternoon. <\/p>\n

According to an arrest report from the Miami Police Department, things did not end well for the would-be seller.<\/p>\n

Police said the victim had listed the diamond-encrusted Cartier watch on Facebook Marketplace for $1 to receive inquiries. Authorities said the victim agreed to sell Bradwell the watch for $2,700: $1,000 in cash and $1,700 by Zelle.<\/p>\n

Authorities said Bradwell sent the seller an address on Northwest 31st Street, near Third Avenue \u2015 a few houses down from where Bradwell lives.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe victim asked (Bradwell) if he was able to meet him closer to which (Bradwell) sent thew victim a photograph of a leg with an ankle monitor on it and stated he wasn\u2019t able to,\u201d an MPD detective wrote in the report.<\/p>\n

According to court records, Bradwell was donning the less-than-stylish leg accessory because he took part in a 2023 armed carjacking<\/a> in North Miami Beach when he was 16. He was charged as an adult, but ultimately got classified as a \u201cyouthful offender\u201d and received community control, probation and withheld adjudication. <\/p>\n

Records show he\u2019s also been accused in various criminal cases in North Miami, Miami Shores and Miami.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, police said the victim in the latest case pulled up at the location just before 3 p.m. and set up his cellphone to record the transaction.<\/p>\n

The two communicated through Google Translate as the victim allowed Bradwell to try on the watch and view additional links that came with it, police said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe victim then asked (Bradwell) to remove the watch until he paid for it. While the victim was holding onto the watch, (Bradwell) lifted his shirt and brandished a black object, which appeared to be a weapon according to the victim,\u201d the report states. \u201c(Bradwell) then said something to the victim and snatched the watch from (his) hand and (left).\u201d<\/p>\n

Police said the victim called 911 and an officer saw Bradwell and tried to stop him, but he ran.<\/p>\n

Authorities said they were able to identify the suspect as Bradwell and went to his house to detain him.<\/p>\n

The MPD report said officers serving a search warrant at his home ultimately found the links, though it doesn\u2019t state whether they found the watch itself.<\/p>\n

Bradwell is now back in jail on an armed robbery charge with a bond listed as \u201cto be set.\u201d His Miami-Dade jail roster listing also includes several additional other charges related to those varying past cases.<\/p>\n
