JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2013 It was a two-for-one week for Jacksonville freshman Samaryah White<\/a>, who was named the ASUN Field Performer and Freshman of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.<\/a><\/p>\n After a successful showing at the Georgia Southern Relays, White earned her first ASUN weekly awards of her Dolphin career. It was also the sixth weekly award won by a ‘Phin this season, the third and fourth awards of the outdoor season specifically.<\/p>\n White won her honors after a first place showing in the long jump. She paced the crowd in the event with a career-best 6.16m leap. To the team’s credit, teammates Julia Sue-Kam-Ling<\/a> and Ma’Kala Davis<\/a> placed second and third respectively. Her distance also shattered her previous career best leap of 5.52m set at the River City Relays.<\/p>\n Jacksonville’s lone freshman now owns the furthest long jump of the entire ASUN season, outpacing Davis’ previous league-best 6.07m jump. Across the entire NCAA landscape, White’s jump is the 69th\u00a0furthest in the entire country.<\/p>\n The outdoor season has just one more meet \u2013 the UNF East Coast Relays from May 1-2 \u2013 before the ASUN Championship begins May 14-16.\u00a0
