TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Florida Democrat Alex Vindman is officially running for the U.S. Senate.<\/p>\n
Alex Vindman filed at the Division of Elections Office in downtown Tallahassee. Vindman is best known as the whistleblower who testified in President Trump\u2019s first impeachment trial in 2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s an honor for me to be out here to fight for your votes, to represent you,so that you know that when you show up, when you have a question, that it gets heard, that it gets answered, and that you don\u2019t get dismissed just because you\u2019re a different party. I\u2019m running to represent everybody in this state. It doesn\u2019t make a difference who you voted for.\u201d<\/p>\n
The candidate served in the army for decades and retired in 2020. He then moved to South Florida, where he says affordability has become a big problem and D.C. isn\u2019t listening.<\/p>\n
The Republican National Committee released a statement on Vindman\u2019s campaign, saying he\u2019s a \u201cradical Democrat hack obsessed with impeaching President Trump and stopping the Republican agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Republicans also urged Floridians to trust Sen. Ashley Moody. <\/p>\n

Recent polls show that Vindman is the favorite to face Moody. State Rep. Angie Nixon is the second favorite.<\/p>\n
