{"id":242746,"date":"2026-04-23T03:29:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-23T03:29:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/242746\/"},"modified":"2026-04-23T03:29:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T03:29:09","slug":"protest-at-wisconsin-beagle-facility-turns-chaotic-as-activists-clash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/242746\/","title":{"rendered":"Protest at Wisconsin beagle facility turns chaotic as activists clash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text text--small text--normal text--primary\">Published:\u00a0April 22, 2026 at 11:12 PM<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Concerns over animal welfare are reaching a breaking point in Wisconsin, drawing activists from across the country &#8212; including one woman who traveled from Miami.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">What began as a protest outside a controversial breeding facility escalated into a chaotic confrontation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Nearly 1,000 animal welfare activists gathered over the weekend at Ridglan Farms, a beagle breeding and research facility under scrutiny for raising animals used in scientific and medical research.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Among them was Ella Magers, who made the 1,500-mile trip from Miami.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">When asked if she planned to break into the facility, Magers said she saw it as necessary.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cWell again, we looked at it as doing what needed to be done to save dogs that are criminally abused,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Momentum has been building since March, when protesters broke into the facility and took 30 dogs.
