HIALEAH GARDENS, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 A Miami Beach motorcycle officer succumbed to his injuries after a crash in Hialeah Gardens on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
According to CBS Miami<\/a>, the crash happened around 11:25 a.m. near I-75 and Gratigny Parkway, causing northbound lanes to temporarily shut down. Crash details are limited at this time.<\/p>\n See also: Stuart city manager fired: HR complaints, police stop and $100K payout<\/a><\/p>\n The motorcycle officer, 33-year-old David Cajuso, was reportedly airlifted and transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital.<\/p>\n During a news conference outside, CBS Miami reports that the Police Chief Wayne Jones called Cajuso a “decorated” police veteran, who had been with the force for a decade.<\/p>\n At 2:45 p.m., an update confirmed that Officer Cajuso died, leaving behind his wife and three young children.<\/p>\n The crash comes less than one month shy of the anniversary of the three Palm Beach County deputies killed<\/a> in a Loxahatchee crash.<\/p>\n Find more ways to stay up to date with your latest local news.
