Coral Gables alone has been buzzing with activity, from Carnival on the Mile and JohnMartin’s St. Patrick’s Day Festival to the always-popular Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition, which wrapped up just a few weeks ago.

The Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce hosted its Mar. 10 Trustee & GEM Investor Reception at the new Alhambra offices of BGI Capital, highlighted by a ribbon cutting attended by Mayor Vince Lago, Vice Mayor Rhonda Anderson, Chamber president and CEO Jorge Arrizurieta, Guillermo Lopez, Jorge Larrieu, Coral Gables Hospital CEO Natalie Rodriguez, and Lisette Trejos, among others.

Speaking of the Chamber, the newly renamed Mark Trowbridge Chamber Foundation has launched a fundraiser that is already proving to be a huge success. CGCC chair Cristina Miller, president and CEO of Intermedia Touch, along with Jorge Arrizurieta and Chamber member Eddy Martinez of Bliss, were recent guests on Gloria’s Gab LIVE to promote Gables-Opoly, a creative board game fundraiser designed by Martinez.

The game sold out in preproduction, with a second run already in the works. Designed specifically as a fundraising tool and supported early on by the City of Coral Gables, it is no surprise this concept is gaining traction so quickly. Volunteers worked alongside young athletes of all abilities, helping them participate in adaptive sports, build confidence, and celebrate their resilience. This inspiring event is just one of many initiatives the Junior Orange Bowl produces each year to showcase and support our youth.

For information on all the events, visit www.jrorangebowl.org.

The Coral Gables Woman’s Club continued its tradition of giving back with its monthly Gringo Bingo fundraiser on Mar. 10 at Birdie Bistro on the Granada Golf Course. Proceeds benefit the club’s free children’s dental clinic, which provides essential services to children in need.

This month’s event was humorously renamed “Gringa Bingo” when Alexandria Guillen stepped in to call the numbers in place of regular volunteer caller “Gringo” Steven Bradley, managing partner of Vivo Sports & Social in Doral, who was the inspiration for the event since its inception in 2019.

On Mar. 27, raising more funds to support the club’s free dental clinic, the Gables Woman’s Club held another event on the Granada Golf Course called “Tee Time Under the Stars.” Guests enjoyed glow in the dark golf with lighted holes plus lots of delicious food and drinks and even more laughs.

Looking ahead, the club’s Mother’s Day Brunch on May 9, presented by South Florida PBS, promises to be spectacular, featuring a carvery station, unlimited mimosas, a silent auction, music, and more. The event ties into the popular Titanic Immersive Voyage, which continues to sell out monthly.

Club president Arely Ruiz with event co-chairs Carmen Suarez and Rita Tennyson, and Silent Auction chair Mayra Dominguez are especially grateful to South Florida PBS, the event’s major sponsor. Tickets are available on Eventbrite at $200 for adults and $100 for guests under 21.

Speaking of the Titanic experience, the GFWC Doral West Dade Woman’s Club is organizing a special trip on Apr. 25 to Boynton Beach for a VIP after-hours visit. Guests will party as they travel on a luxury bus departing International Mall at 3 p.m., complete with food, drinks, and games. The experience will continue on the return trip with a boxed meal and a fun Titanic trivia competition with prizes.

Special thanks go to South Florida PBS chief of marketing and education Jeneissy Azcuy, along with R Catering and Birdie Bistro owner Rita Tennyson, whose generous support promises to make this a terrific affair. A limited number of tickets remain available at $150 per person.

The Greater Kendall Business Association held its Signature Luncheon on Mar. 26 at Fogo de Chão Dadeland. The featured speaker, Manny Cid, Miami-Dade County’s Senior Advisor for Economic Opportunity, delivered an engaging and informative presentation on how to do business with the county. From navigating procurement processes to identifying opportunities for small and local businesses, his insights provided valuable guidance for attendees.

As always, South Florida continues to shine with opportunities to connect, celebrate, and give back to the community. In fact, a new annual event, Florida State Day Celebration, was held on Apr. 11, the Saturday after Easter. The timing was perfect for this in 2026, as it was the Saturday after Easter in 1513 that Ponce de Leon discovered and named it Florida, a flowery Easter – Pascua Florida. This annual celebration was founded by Iacarlo Arispe who was a member of the Coral Gables Chamber and now on staff there.

A few years ago Iancarlo met with the president of the Coral Gables Woman’s Club and owner of ArelyPR, Arely Ruiz and she encouraged him to go for it. So, a few years later it has come to fruition. Guests dressed in red and white for the occasion gathered with dignitaries at The Plaza in Coral Gables for a ribbon cutting and program that brought together three cultures as part of Florida’s history in a year that also celebrates our nation’s 250 birthday.

Proceeds benefit the Sisters of St. Joseph Health Foundation based in Miami that provides philanthropic support for the healthcare ministries of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of St. Augustine. The foundation, the primary fundraising arm for the St. John Bosco Clinic, offers medical care to uninsured and underserved individuals in Miami-Dade County

Dates to save on your calendar
Continuing through April – South Florida PBS Pharaoh Immersive Experience, at the Boynton Beach offices.

Now through July – The Titanic Immersive Experience presented by South Floria PBS

Apr. 25 – 3 p.m. – Doral West Dade Woman’s Club Trip on party bus to see Titanic Immersive Voyage in Boynton Beach at S.
