The Miami city commission is set to vote Thursday night on a contract extension for the Ultra Music Festival to keep the music event at Bayfront Park for the next two decades. <\/p>\n
Miami Commissioner Damian Pardo says they deferred the vote to allow for more public input on the quality-of-life impact of noise, traffic, and park access.<\/p>\n
The proposed contract extension includes a $2 million base rent with 4% annual increases. It also allows for a 28-day closure of Bayfront Park for setup and teardown. <\/p>\n
The 3-day electronic dance music festival has a $200-million direct local economic impact according to a recent study. <\/p>\n
