Voices for Children Foundation celebrated a milestone day of impact at the 20th Annual Golf Invitational, hosted by Brad Meltzer, board chair and Two Roads Development partner and president, at La Gorce Country Club on Apr. 6.<\/p>\n
The event brought together community leaders, philanthropists, and dedicated supporters to raise over $750,000, the highest amount in the event\u2019s history, in support of children in foster care across Miami-Dade County.<\/p>\n
Guests enjoyed a full day on the course followed by an evening program that highlighted the mission at the heart of the event: ensuring that every child in foster care has a voice and the resources they need to thrive.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor the past 12 years, it\u2019s been an honor to host this event in support of an organization that means so much to my family,\u201d Meltzer said. \u201cMost of us were lucky. We had parents who cared for us, protected us, and set us on the right path. But thousands of children right here in our own community do not have that. That\u2019s why Voices for Children matters.\u201d<\/p>\n
Funds raised from the Invitational directly support Voices for Children\u2019s programs, which provide essential services, advocacy, and life-changing opportunities to more than 1,500 youth navigating the foster care system in Miami-Dade County.<\/p>\n
A powerful highlight of the evening came from guest speaker and volunteer mentor Isiah Griffin, a former foster youth who shared his personal journey and the transformative impact of consistent support.<\/p>\n
\u201cSometimes the difference between a young person falling through the cracks and finding their future is just a few degrees of support,\u201d Griffin said. \u201cA mentor, a safe place to live, someone who shows up consistently \u2014 that\u2019s what Voices for Children does, it changes the trajectory.\u201d<\/p>\n
Griffin\u2019s remarks underscored the importance of community involvement and the role supporters play in helping youth move from uncertainty to possibility.<\/p>\n
The event\u2019s success was made possible by the generosity of its sponsors, including top supporters Suffolk and Coastal Construction, along with numerous corporate partners, donors, and friends committed to improving the lives of children in foster care.<\/p>\n
\u201cYes, today was about golf, fun, and fellowship \u2014 but most importantly, it\u2019s about supporting a cause that gives a voice to the voiceless. Voices for Children stands on the frontlines for abused, neglected, and abandoned children right here in Miami-Dade County.<\/p>\n
Voices ensures that every child someone who cares and provides basic services when no one else has.\u201d<\/p>\n
While the tournament celebrates two decades of community impact, Voices for Children proudly marks 12 years as its charitable partner and remains committed to expanding its reach to ensure every child has the support they need to succeed.<\/p>\n
