The Florida Department of Transportation said it successfully completed critical repairs, including replacing the aging steel grid deck with a new steel grid deck to enhance safety and extend the service life of the bridge. <\/p>\n
\u201cFDOT met its aggressive construction schedule, recognizing the significant impact the closure had on daily commuters and the surrounding community,\u201d FDOT said in a release that thanked Lee County Traffic Operations for its partnership throughout the closure. Traffic signal timing across the area was adjusted to help manage detour routes and maintain traffic flow as efficiently as possible. <\/p>\n
All vehicles, including commercial trucks and buses, are now permitted to use the bridge. <\/p>\n
