From AI-powered hologram chatbots at Miami International Airport (MIA) to advanced robotic hygiene systems at PortMiami, Miami-Dade County is investing heavily in technology. Traffic congestion at the seaport is also set to get an upgrade.<\/p>\n
All of it was presented on Thursday at eMerge Americas<\/a>, held at the Miami Beach Convention Center.<\/p>\n Mayor Daniella Levine Cava made the announcement<\/a>, highlighting what the county calls its \u201cfirst-of-its-kind AI-powered hologram\u201d developed for MIA.<\/p>\n According to the county, this launch makes MIA \u201cthe first airport in the world to deploy large-scale geo-aware, agentic AI across its digital infrastructure.\u201d<\/p>\n A hologram\u2014why?<\/p>\n Miami-Dade says the goal is to \u201cenhance the passenger journey\u201d by offering real-time, conversational assistance through on-site interfaces, as well as web, mobile, and kiosks.<\/p>\n Robots at PortMiami?<\/p>\n Not quite the futuristic kind\u2014but still high-tech.<\/p>\n The county introduced an intelligent cleaning system described as an \u201cadvanced robotic hygiene technology,\u201d developed by Miami-based company WorkWise<\/a>.<\/p>\n These robots are designed to clean floors more efficiently, helping maintain PortMiami\u2019s status as the Cruise Capital of the World and Cargo Gateway of the Americas.<\/p>\n Tackling traffic<\/p>\n The county also announced a new AI-powered traffic solution for PortMiami.<\/p>\n
