ST. PETERSBURG, FL \u2014 A St. Petersburg man is facing charges after police said he attacked two women with a butter knife outside a local post office.<\/p>\n
Rodrigo Romero, 18, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault following the incident at 76 4th St. N. in St. Pete.<\/p>\n
According to police, two women were walking in the downtown area in front of an open-air post office when Romero attacked them. <\/p>\n
One victim suffered minor injuries to her head as a result of the attack. The second victim was not injured, police said.<\/p>\n
Bystanders in the area assisted by calling police and detaining Romero until officers arrived.<\/p>\n
According to police, Romero and the victims did not know each other. It’s unclear why he attacked the women. <\/p>\n
Romero was taken to Bayfront Health for evaluation. After being treated and released, he was transported to the Pinellas County Jail.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"ST.
