(WCTV\/Florida Capital Bureau) &#8211; Florida parents can start planning for their children\u2019s college education even earlier.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced that more than 13,000 families have signed up for a new state education partnership to save up for their children\u2019s education fund. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The partnership is between Florida\u2019s Voluntary Pre Kindergarten (VPK) program and the Florida Prepaid College Savings Plan. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-center\">Florida Politics:<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Families will receive an initial $100 upon enrollment. They then have the chance to enter into a raffle for $1,000 every month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The governor said that it is important to invest in Florida\u2019s higher education system at a young age. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThis is yet again another great option for families. We are proud of what we have accomplished with the prepaid programs, but yet always looking out for the best interest with the families more so than the government\u2019s interest. And when you have excess funds you got to get that back into the families pockets,\u201c DeSantis said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Since VPK\u2019s launch, the program has served more than 3.1 million families. <\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WCTV.
