Benchmark General Contractors, a Fort Myers company, has won contracts to rebuild two Sanibel Island condominium properties severely damaged during Hurricane Ian in 2022.<\/p>\n
The condo properties are the Gulf Beach Condo and Kimball Lodge, and both will be built to meet the latest flood elevation standards as well as hurricane wind codes.<\/p>\n
Terms of the contracts were not immediately available.<\/p>\n
The Gulf Beach Condo project includes the reconstruction of a 14-unit beachfront condominium community totaling 28,542 square feet. The single-building development is located at 527 E. Gulf Drive.<\/p>\n
Construction is scheduled to start in the summer and should be completed within 12 months.<\/p>\n
The project is designed by MK Architecture, with engineering by Michael D. Stewart. Doug Hrabik will serve as project manager.<\/p>\n
The Kimball Lodge rebuild includes a single building, 31-unit condominium community totaling 26,982 square feet that is located at 3111 W. Gulf Drive.<\/p>\n
Construction on the Kimball Lodge has already started, and it is expected to be completed within 12 months.<\/p>\n
It is designed by Christopher J. Lee Architects, with engineering by LB Structural Engineering. Jose Castillo will serve as project manager.<\/p>\n
Benchmark was founded in 1984 and specializes in commercial and luxury residential projects.<\/p>\n
