The choice of Proctor sets the stage for him to be a foundational piece of Miami’s new build under this management group. Here’s what you need to know about the pick and how Proctor projects to the NFL.

What to know about Alabama OL Kadyn Proctor

Dec 19, 2025; Norman, OK, USA; Alabama Crimson Tide offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor (74) against the Oklahoma Sooners during the CFP National Playoff First Round at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. Mark J. Rebilas-Imagn Images

Age: 20
A to Z Sports Draft Projection: Eventual Good Starter

Career Projection:

“While Kadyn Proctor was widely viewed as a lock to go round 1 for most of the pre-draft process, that doesn’t mean his projection comes without concerns. On paper and on film, you see a massive human being at over 6-7 and 350 pounds, who somehow can do a wave drill like a wide receiver. You see a player who can just maul people at the point of attack and is downright scary in the open field.
What’s also scary is that Proctor ballooned up to close to 400 pounds during his time at the Capstone. Alabama had to religiously watch his weight, and even at a svelte 350-360 pounds, you can see some of the issues he has in pass protection. Proctor struggles to redirect and deal with bend. That can cause him to overset and get beaten inside. If he can keep his weight in check and work on his lateral movement, there’s no reason he can’t be a Pro Bowl LT; if not, he’s probably a solid guard.”

Rob Gregson

A to Z Sports NFL

Grading the Dolphins selection of Kadyn Proctor

The Dolphins have sent a clear message to the rest of the NFL. This isn’t a ‘wide zone system fit’. This is a punch you in the mouth brawler with massive size and the ability to displace defenders against their will. It fits the Packers’ model of drafting for youth, too. Proctor is just a pup, still just 20 years old but one of the biggest players in this year’s class. When you stack it all up, Miami has lived up to the promise to start building this roster inside out — and they’re starting with Proctor. There were some players who I had higher grades on, absolutely. But the message behind the pick is one I fully support.

Grade: B+

Miami Dolphins News

With the 12th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins have selected Alabama OL Kadyn…

[9
54521,1250,102342,123,1763,2797,125,124
0":"post-244428","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-miami","8":"tag-2026-nfl-draft","9":"tag-dolphins","10":"tag-dolphins-news","11":"tag-miami","12":"tag-miami-dolphins","13":"tag-miami-dolphins-news","14":"tag-miami-headlines","15":"tag-miami-news
["GET
