A man who had barricaded himself inside a Jacksonville house and was believed armed has surrendered to police after about six hours.<\/p>\n
The yet-unidentified man left the house in the 700 block of Park Street, showed law enforcement authorities he was not carrying a weapon, and was taken into custody.<\/p>\n
Illinois State Police and Jacksonville and Morgan County law enforcement had arrived at the Jacksonville house about 6 a.m. and began negotiating with the man to come outside. He briefly appeared at the door and a window about\u00a0two hours later but did not leave.<\/p>\n
