Photos by Michele Eve Sandberg\/micheleevephoto<\/a><\/p>\n More than 2,100 protests<\/a> are planned across the country this Saturday for another reiteration of \u201cNo Kings Day,\u201d<\/a> a series of protests against President Donald Trump and his administration.<\/p>\n Protesters gathered in cities around the country in response to Trump\u2019s multimillion-dollar military parade in Washington, D.C. on June 14, which fell on his 74th birthday and Flag Day. The demonstrations were part of a nationwide day of defiance to \u201creject authoritarianism.\u201d<\/p>\n They will take to the city streets once again on October 18 in all 50 states, including multiple cities in Florida, as part of \u201cNo Kings Day of Peaceful Action.\u201d Organizers say people are standing together to unite against President Trump\u2019s authoritarian actions and power grabs.<\/p>\n The protests come after Trump sent National Guard troops to Chicago and Portland amid demonstrations outside U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities. His administration has floated the idea of invoking the Insurrection Act<\/a> to use military force in Democratic-run cities to stamp down protests.<\/p>\n \u201cBuilding momentum of the June 14 day of action, which drew more than five million people across all 50 states, the October 18 mobilization is the next chapter in this growing movement,\u201d a press release reads. \u201cTogether, millions will send a clear and unmistakable message: we are a nation of equals, and our country will not be ruled by fear or force.\u201d<\/p>\n The groups organizing the protests<\/a> include the Human Rights Campaign, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), the American Federation of Teachers, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), 50501, and Indivisible.<\/p>\n More than 80 protests are planned in Florida, including Hollywood, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, and Miami.
