LOUISVILLE,\u00a0Ky.\u00a0(April 24, 2026) \u2013\u00a0The\u00a0Orlando Pride (2-2-2,\u00a08\u00a0points)\u00a0fell 3-2 to\u00a0Racing Louisville FC (1-3-1,\u00a04\u00a0points)\u00a0in\u00a0their visit to Lynn Family Stadium on Friday night.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
Orlando\u00a0set the tempo early on,\u00a0applying\u00a0pressure with multiple looks at goal, including a Haley McCutcheon effort that rattled off the post, but it was Louisville who\u00a0opened the scoring\u00a0with their first shot of the match.\u00a0In the\u00a019th minute,\u00a0Lauren Milliet\u00a0drove\u00a0toward the 18-yard box before\u00a0unleashing\u00a0a\u00a0powerful\u00a0long\u2011range strike\u00a0that curled\u00a0into the upper corner to give\u00a0the home side\u00a0the lead.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
The Pride kept pushing and found an equalizer\u00a0just\u00a0before halftime\u00a0on a well-worked counterattack.\u00a0Anna Moorhouse made a diving save on\u00a0a headed effort from\u00a0Sarah Weber\u00a0before\u00a0Hailie Mace\u00a0collected the ball and played\u00a0it to\u00a0Marta. The Brazilian\u00a0squared\u00a0a pass to\u00a0Angelina,\u00a0who\u00a0immediately\u00a0lofted\u00a0a perfectly weighted pass behind the Louisville back line where Barbra Banda\u00a0outmuscled her defender\u00a0to\u00a0calmly slot past the keeper\u00a0and\u00a0level the match heading into the break.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
Louisville\u00a0responded just\u00a0minutes\u00a0after\u00a0the\u00a0restart, scoring\u00a0two goals\u00a0in a span of\u00a0three\u00a0minutes\u00a0to retake\u00a0and double\u00a0their\u00a0lead.\u00a0Banda would\u00a0score her league-leading fifth goal of the season\u00a0in\u00a0second-half stoppage time\u00a0after\u00a0finishing off\u00a0a header from\u00a0Hannah Anderson, but the Pride were unable\u00a0to\u00a0find another equalizer before the final whistle.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
The Pride will look to bounce back next week as they return home on Saturday, May 2,\u00a0to\u00a0host\u00a0the Washington Spirit. That match is\u00a0set to kick off from\u00a0Inter&Co\u00a0Stadium at 4 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrustrated, obviously.\u00a0Never\u00a0like losing games, especially in the manner that we lost today. I\u00a0thought\u00a0we did well in\u00a0the\u00a0first half and created a lot of opportunities. They scored a great goal from the edge of the box, but we get ourselves back into the game\u00a0going into\u00a0halftime. Then we just came\u00a0out\u00a0flat. Allowing a team like Louisville to go two\u00a0goals up\u00a0after five minutes into the second half, we\u00a0can\u2019t\u00a0allow teams to\u00a0do that. We\u00a0built\u00a0momentum into the second half, created some decent\u00a0opportunities\u00a0and got one right at the end. It\u00a0just\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0land for us to get that equalizing goal. It really did come down to those five minutes in the second half. We\u00a0talk\u00a0about it a lot. How do we get that\u00a0intensity? How do we start\u00a0the half\u00a0like we finished? That is going to be a real\u00a0reflection\u00a0point going into the next game.\u201d<\/p>\n
