A man was recently killed in what was described as an industrial accident in Orange County, according to the Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
Deputies responded around 9 p.m. Thursday to 6001 Destination Parkway, the address of the Hilton Orlando hotel in the heart of the county\u2019s tourism corridor.<\/p>\n
There they found an employee, 30-year-old Aurelius Katinde, under an industrial-sized dryer, the sheriff\u2019s office said. Orange County Fire Rescue pronounced him dead at the scene. Investigators believe his death was accidental.<\/p>\n
In response to a request for comment about the death, a Hilton Orlando spokesperson stated,\u00a0\u201cWe are deeply saddened by the very unfortunate incident that occurred yesterday evening. We extend our heartfelt condolences to all those affected and remain committed to supporting them during this difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n
A spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Labor said Friday that OSHA had opened an investigation into the incident.<\/p>\n
