A one-minute\u00a0performance\u00a0by\u00a0Florida A&M University\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0Marching 100\u00a0to\u00a0Ludacris\u2019<\/a>\u00a0new single \u201cPull Over\u201d was enough to attract the Grammy-winning\u00a0rapper\u00a0to campus to see the “incomparable” band\u00a0for himself.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Marching\u00a0100<\/a>\u00a0released an April 13 video of its performance as part of\u00a0a viral\u00a0social media campaign\u00a0called the\u00a0\u201cPull Over Challenge,\u201d<\/a>\u00a0where Ludacris invited HBCU marching bands and college students to\u00a0perform to his new, high-energy\u00a0song.\u00a0Five days later, the rapper posted an Instagram video of him pulling up to FAMU\u2019s campus.<\/p>\n

“I told my uncle\u00a0gas\u00a0up the jet \u2013 I’m going down to Tallahassee to show them my appreciation,\u201d Ludacris said in the April 18 Instagram video post.<\/p>\n

While Ludacris’ new single was released earlier this month, a FAMU spokesperson said the Marching 100’s performance to the rapper’s challenge was filmed on Jan. 28. Details on the performance being filmed on a date prior to the song’s release and the social media challenge’s launch are unclear, and the performance was not publicized during the time it was filmed.<\/p>\n

FAMU\u00a0alumnus\u00a0and noted Hollywood producer\u00a0Will Packer<\/a>\u00a0accompanied Ludacris to the university for his visit, and while on campus, the two celebrities\u00a0danced along with the Marching 100 as the student band members performed the challenge together.<\/p>\n

“Luda said, \u2018Will, what is the best HBCU in all the land?\u2019\u00a0I said I\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0know about all the land, but I know about\u00a0all the\u00a0world, and there is only one,\u201d Packer said in an Instagram video post. \u201cIn all the world, there is only one \u2013 the\u00a0Florida A&M University.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Packer is one of FAMU\u2019s most celebrated alumni, the\u00a0Will Packer Performing Arts Amphitheater<\/a>\u00a0on campus \u2013 a $2 million\u00a0outdoor venue<\/a>\u00a0just south of Lee Hall \u2013\u00a0bears his name after it officially\u00a0opened in October 2021<\/a>\u00a0and is the main site of attraction during\u00a0Set Friday<\/a>, a weekly tradition where students gather to browse vendors, enjoy food and socialize.<\/p>\n

In the social media video, the Marching 100’s first female head drum major Oluwamodupe \u201cDupe\u201d Oloyede<\/a> \u2212 a senior and theater performance major who recently performed at the 2026 Oscars<\/a> \u2212 is seen leading the band in the performance.<\/p>\n

The opportunity comes after the FAMU Marching 100 band has had\u00a0a couple other acclaimed\u00a0appearances, such as its\u00a0performance of \u201cDon\u2019t Stop\u00a0\u2019Til\u00a0You Get Enough\u201d\u00a0in February\u00a0to kick off a\u00a0promo campaign for Lionsgate\u2019s film \u201cMichael,\u201d<\/a>\u00a0a biopic of pop icon Michael Jackson that premiered in theaters April 24. The\u00a0band\u00a0also\u00a0recently\u00a0performed to the song\u00a0\u201cVictory,\u201d<\/a>\u00a0which was\u00a0composed by Grammy-winning\u00a0rapper Common as the theme song for Amazon\u2019s Prime\u00a0Video\u2019s\u00a0NBA on Prime.<\/p>\n

Prior to the FAMU band\u2019s acceptance of the viral challenge,\u00a0Clark Atlanta University\u2019s band \u2013 the Mighty Marching Panthers \u2013\u00a0shared\u00a0a\u00a038-second performance<\/a>\u00a0to the new song on April 4, which led Ludacris to visit the CAU campus afterward as well.<\/p>\n

Ludacris\u2019 new song \u201cPull Over\u201d is available on all streaming platforms.<\/p>\n
