JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2013 A woman is dead after being shot Friday night at a Jacksonville apartment complex, and a person of interest is detained, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
Officers responded to an apartment on Collins Road on the city\u2019s westside just after 7:45 p.m. Friday after reports of a shooting. That location is just off Roosevelt Boulevard near Knightsbridge Circle and Fulham Road. <\/p>\n
JSO\u2019s says when officers got there, they found the woman inside an apartment with at least one gunshot wound.<\/p>\n
JFRD took her to a hospital where she died from her injuries, investigators said.<\/p>\n
Homicide and crime scene detectives are investigating the circumstances of the shooting.<\/p>\n
JSO said a person of interest is detained and is being questioned, but no one has been arrested at this point.<\/p>\n
Police said they believe the shooting is an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing threat to the community.<\/p>\n
