{"id":246336,"date":"2026-04-25T15:45:50","date_gmt":"2026-04-25T15:45:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/246336\/"},"modified":"2026-04-25T15:45:50","modified_gmt":"2026-04-25T15:45:50","slug":"florida-puerto-rican-parade-returns-for-10th-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/246336\/","title":{"rendered":"Florida Puerto Rican Parade returns for 10th year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ORLANDO, Fla. \u2014 The Florida Puerto Rican Parade &amp; Festival returns to Downtown Orlando for its 10th anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>In years past, the parade has drawn thousands from the Puerto Rican community to promote the island\u2019s culture, heritage, and its contributions to the state of Florida.<\/p>\n<p>What You Need To Know<\/p>\n<p>Florida Puerto Rican Parade &amp; Festival back for 10th anniversary<br \/>\n<br \/>The parade has drawn thousands from the Puerto Rican community to promote the island\u2019s culture, heritage, and its contributions to the state of Florida in years past<br \/>\n<br \/>This year\u2019s focus is all about collaboration with local partners to bring economic opportunities back home to the island<br \/>\n<br \/>It ties into the parade\u2019s theme, which is \u201cBuild the Future in Puerto Rico\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Florida Puerto Rican Parade\u2019s chairperson, Ralph Morales, says the purpose of this event isn\u2019t just to celebrate with a parade, but to get the word out about the island\u2019s economic contributions.<\/p>\n<p>He says one of his goals this year is to create partnerships with sponsors and gain support from local businesses and government to bring some of those economic opportunities back home to the island.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want people to understand that we\u2019re good people, we\u2019re working people. We want to help the economy grow wherever we settle. It is our goal to be able to build a community that in the next 10, 20, 30 years is going to become much more significant,\u201d says Morales.<\/p>\n<p>This concept ties into this year\u2019s theme which is \u201cBuild the Future in Puerto Rico.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Morales says that doing so will require an effort to encourage Puerto Rican youth graduating college here to consider bringing their expertise back to the island to work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEstablishing businesses in Puerto Rico with the help of government to help you either expand or create a new business in Puerto Rico, so you can employ us, so our people don\u2019t have to go anywhere.
