It was a comeback that came up just short for the Storm. In the first half, the Battlehawks surged to a 25-0 lead, stunning the Storm.This game also marked the first time former St. Louis head coach, turned Orlando head coach, Anthony Becht, faced his old team and coaching colleague, Ricky Proehl. Early on, it was clear that Proehl and his Battlehawks were there to put on a show. Harrison Frost came out sharp, passing to Hakeem Butler for 27 yards on third down, finding Tyler Neville for another 16.Kylin James capped it off with a one-yard score, but a missed conversion kept the score 6-0. Frost pushed through the Storm&#8217;s defense for a perfect 5-5 completion rate as St. Louis worked into their rhythm.The St. Louis Defense caught on early, blocking Orlando from any real gain downfield and forcing a turnover on downs.But the Storm struck back, and Armani Bledsoe was able to tip the ball out of the air, intercepting a pass intended for Jasheen Davis. Davis is a newer addition to the Storm after being drafted in January. St. Louis continued to stay hot, and with their starting kicker watching from the sidelines, Punter Ryan Sanborn nailed a 36-yard kick to extend the lead to 16-0. It was Orlando&#8217;s worst half of the season, with 29 yards and no points to show for it. &#8220;It was just not the level we wanted to be playing at to start the football game,&#8221; Storm Head Coach Anthony Becht said.The energy in the Storm locker room told a different story, and even with the deficit, they remained dialed in. &#8220;I&#8217;m incredibly proud of how our team came out in the second half. Nobody was screaming or yelling at anybody. You just have to go and play one play at a time,&#8221; Becht said. It was a 14-point third quarter that brought Inter&amp;Co stadium to its feet. The Storm surged to one of the biggest comebacks a team had faced this season.However, St. Louis once again slammed the door, and the Orlando Storm went 3-of-14 on third down as their first half haunted the rest of the game.
