<\/a>bioreconstruct\/x<\/p>\nThanks to a recent photo from aerial photographer bioreconstruct, we can see the tall fences being implemented on the right side of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. These fences are meant to block guests from seeing the unfinished elements<\/a> of the construction that surrounds the attraction on that side.<\/p>\n The fencing is being installed on the right side perimeter of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, though there is a gap behind the mountain itself. Fencing may be added there in the coming days, or perhaps the mountain will serve as its own view barrier.<\/p>\n Although the fencing is just being put in place now, we anticipate it will be complete by the time the roller coaster reopens on May 3 after its year-long<\/a> refurbishment closure.<\/p>\n Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Updates The ride will have\u00a0an\u00a0updated opening scene<\/a>\u00a0with a transformation of the Rainbow Caverns. When guests enter the Rainbow Caverns, they will see a majestic, beautiful scene of bats, phosphorescent pools, and shimmering stalagmites and stalactites. Then thunder rumbles, and the scene shifts to a menacing atmosphere.<\/p>\n The ride will also have refreshed Audio-Animatronics and new gold props. The ride\u2019s\u00a0entire track was replaced<\/a>\u00a0and it has new trains. Inoperable effects have been\u00a0restored<\/a>. We recently saw Disney\u00a0testing a steam effect<\/a>\u00a0at the front of the attraction. A\u00a0new sign was installed<\/a>\u00a0last month.<\/p>\n With the improvements and after a comprehensive review by safety teams, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will lower its height requirement to 38\u2033.
