More than three-and-a-half tons of seized cocaine worth over $53 million was offloaded by the U.S. Coast Guard at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale on Monday, officials said.<\/p>\n
The 7,050 pounds of cocaine was offloaded by the crew of the Cutter Escanaba.<\/p>\n
It was seized during one interdiction in the Caribbean Sea and another in the Eastern Pacific Ocean, officials said.<\/p>\n
“The crew\u2019s achievements on this patrol reflect the very best of our service\u2014courage, vigilance, and an unshakeable commitment to protecting the American people,” said Cmdr. Nicholas Seniuk, Escanaba\u2019s commanding officer. “Every pound of narcotics kept off our streets represents lives changed, violence prevented, and communities made safer. We couldn\u2019t be prouder of their extraordinary work.”<\/p>\n
Coast Guard officials said they seized over 511,000 pounds of cocaine in 2025, over three times the annual average<\/p>\n
