\n\t\t\t\t\t\tPower restoration and clean up was an all-day event Monday in Miami County, Kansas after two rounds of severe weather passed through the area about an hour southwest of Kansas City.On Monday, Gene Powers was in his front yard.The tree he planted when he moved into his Paola home 19 years ago suffered damage from high wind early Monday morning.Fortunately, it was far enough away from his home and his neighbor’s camper to not cause any further problems.With the help of his friend Keith Kron, Powers was cutting up the branch debris.”We’d been missing everything until we got that hailstorm a few days ago. And now we’re seeing, like, we’re hitting everything,” Powers said.Not far from his home, Paola crews were cleaning up other tree damage in a neighborhood near downtown.In the rural, northwest part of the county, crews in a line of bucket trucks were working on power restoration with new power poles and lines.Just up the street from where crews were working, there’s a badly damaged barn as well as damaged trees on farm propertiesNeighbors said the power pole, barn, and tree damage along 247th Street between Pressonville and Pleasant Valley Road happened Sunday afternoon at about 4:30 p.m.On Monday morning at about 5:30 a.m., tornado sirens were activated for a warning affecting part of Miami County.Just two weeks ago, the small town of Hillsdale about 5 miles north of Paola, suffered significant tornado damage. “We just need time to have some calm and some peace and get through everything that we’ve had so far,” said Miami County Undersheriff Matthew Kelly.”It was just a kind of a hit and miss deal again,” Powers said.Despite the multiple severe weather hits, there are no reports of deaths or injuries in Miami County.\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
