In a move that is sure to have electoral implications, Tallahassee Reports has learned that Tallahassee City Manager Reese Goad has informed the city commission that he plans to resign. In a letter (included below) addressed to the mayor and city commissioners, Goad announced his resignation \u201ceffective September 30, 2026, or upon your selection of the next City Manager, at which time I will retire from the City of Tallahassee.\u201d<\/p>\n

Goad, who has been a frequent target of the progressive left via City Commissioner Jeremy Matlow, was selected city manager in 2017.<\/p>\n

In the resignation letter, Goad says, it \u201chas been my honor to serve as Tallahassee\u2019s City Manage for the last nine years since first stepping into the role in 2017, and subsequent appointment in 2018.\u201d Goad has worked with city in various capacitiesfor 31 years.<\/p>\n
