If you drive too fast, you might miss the opportunity to try Smalls Sliders, the newest mini burger joint\u00a0in Tallahassee.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Smalls Sliders was launched in October 2019 by\u00a0founder\u00a0Brandon Landry, with former NFL player Drew Brees making an early investment in the brand. The first debut of\u00a0Smalls\u00a0was\u00a0in\u00a0Baton Rouge, Louisiana.\u00a0Due\u00a0to increasing\u00a0interest,\u00a0the brand would eventually expand to several cities, including Tallahassee,\u00a0Florida.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re loving it\u2013we\u2019re loving the support from our community, we love our college kids, we love our adults, we love our elders, we love our children and families that come out and give us a good time,\u201d\u00a0said\u00a0Raven Godwin, a shift lead at Smalls Sliders.\u00a0\u201cOur motto is just to make your day a little bit better.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
As people drove by, many\u00a0witnessed\u00a0the ongoing construction of the mini-burger restaurant. What was once an empty space on West Pensacola\u00a0Street\u00a0is now occupied by a bright orange box and an outside sitting area for customers\u00a0to enjoy their meals.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Since last Thursday, Smalls Sliders has had a line that stretches across the parking lot. Yet, considering the massive amount of business the burger spot receives, they deliver on their promise of smooth service with their \u201cslide through\u201d sign.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u00a0have the perfect\u00a0sizing\u00a0and quality\u00a0I\u00a0need to feel satisfied! 10\/10 would\u00a0recommend\u201d\u00a0said\u00a0Jaisha\u00a0Smith, a\u00a0fourth year\u00a0sociology major.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The menu consists of its classic slider, which is made with beef patties, American cheese, pickles\u00a0and a tangy \u201cSmauce\u201d (Their signature sauce) on a buttered bun. The meal also comes with waffle fries and a drink of the customer\u2019s\u00a0choice. The public also has the\u00a0option\u00a0to add a milkshake as a dessert.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve\u00a0tried it all, the queso is my favorite,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0a must-have for every meal, burgers, fries, everything\u2013it\u2019s\u00a0delicious,\u201d\u00a0Godwin said. \u201cAnd we cook it from\u00a0order;\u00a0we don\u2019t sit around with food.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Beyond the food itself, the restaurant\u2019s atmosphere has played a significant role in attracting curious customers. The bright orange container\u2013a recognizable signature of the brand creates a casual and upbeat environment that makes it stand\u00a0out. Music\u00a0filters through the outdoor seating area, and staff members move quickly between orders and\u00a0greet\u00a0customers.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
For many Tallahassee residents, Smalls Sliders offers more than just convenience; it fills a niche in the city\u2019s growing fast-casual scene.\u00a0College students and native Tallahassee residents have found themselves\u00a0stopping\u00a0between classes, and the lunch rush accounts for\u00a0a large portion\u00a0of the traffic.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
