{"id":250661,"date":"2026-04-29T04:49:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-29T04:49:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/250661\/"},"modified":"2026-04-29T04:49:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-29T04:49:09","slug":"healthy-mothers-healthy-babies-hosts-annual-mothers-day-luncheon-in-broward","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/250661\/","title":{"rendered":"Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies hosts annual Mother\u2019s Day luncheon in Broward"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">BROWARD COUNTY, Fla.  \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hmhbbroward.org\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.hmhbbroward.org\/\">Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies of Broward County<\/a> held its annual Mother\u2019s Day luncheon on Tuesday to raise funds supporting pregnant and parenting women across South Florida.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Local 10 anchor Nicole Perez served as emcee for the event, which organizers say is critical to sustaining programs that provide childcare assistance, diapers, wipes, education and emergency support to families in need.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The organization says it serves about 3,000 families each year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cHere at HMHB, we focus on pregnant and parenting women &#8212; give them all the support they need from parent education, wellness, emergency, basic needs, medical education so that way we know mom and baby are safe and we have a healthy mother and baby at time of birth,\u201d said Dawn Liberta, executive director of HMHB of Broward County.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The luncheon highlighted several success stories, including mothers who have benefited from the group\u2019s services.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">One of them is Tranea Cannon, a former \u201cAmerican Idol\u201d contestant who overcame significant challenges with help from the organization.
