Walmart has partnered with the Alphabet\u2019s Wing<\/a> drone company to launch delivery to consumers.<\/p>\n

The drone delivery service is up and running in Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston. The companies also are eyeing South Florida, Orlando and Tampa, along with Los Angeles, Cincinnati and California\u2019s Bay Area for the next wave of drone deliveries of items like last-minute groceries and over-the-counter medicine.<\/p>\n

The companies demonstrated their drone delivery system during CoMOTION Miami at Miami Dade College\u2019s Wolfson Campus on April 28.<\/p>\n

Walmart and Wing expect to launch the new drone delivery service in Miami in 2027 as part of its nationwide expansion plans.<\/p>\n

The drones weigh just over 11 pounds and can cruise up to 60 mph about 150 feet above the ground. They then hover at about 23 feet to lower orders.<\/p>\n

Walmart also is expanding online pickup and delivery areas at refurbished store locations, part of a major remodeling project in South Florida and beyond.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re making shopping easier, whether customers are walking the aisles, picking up an order on the go, or having essentials delivered when life gets busy,\u201d Nick Berkeley, Walmart\u2019s senior vice president for the Southeast Business Unit, said in a statement,<\/p>\n
