ST. PETERSBURG — “The Architecture of the Dalí,” a new exhibition inspired by the museum’s evolution and upcoming expansion, will open on Saturday, May 2, at The Dalí Museum, One Dalí Boulevard, St. Petersburg.

The exhibition traces the evolution of the museum through the lens of its architecture — culminating in a preview of newly unveiled concepts offering the first public look at what’s ahead in the next chapter, including an immersive flyover video providing a dynamic, never-before-seen perspective.

To chart the museum’s journey, from its origins in a Cleveland, Ohio, factory to its current iconic waterfront home in St. Petersburg, the exhibition brings together three-dimensional models, archival photographs, and newspaper clippings. The presentation also pays tribute to founding collectors A. Reynolds and Eleanor R. Morse, whose vision ensured Dalí’s work would have a permanent home, shaping what has become one of the region’s most distinctive cultural institutions.

The exhibition examines the creative decisions that shaped the building’s iconic façade and light-filled galleries, while offering a timely look at how architecture continues to define the museum experience with design elements that invite discovery much like Dalí’s own work, and its evolving role in the local community — expanding access to learning and immersive engagement for residents, students and visitors alike.

This exhibition is included in the price of gallery admission. It will run through Oct. 18. The Dalí Museum is home to a preeminent collection of the artist’s works, with over 2,400 works representing every period and medium of Salvador Dalí’s creative life.
