The Children\u2019s Education Center of the Islands (CECI) announced a $20,000 grant from the Charitable Foundation of the Islands (CFI). The funding will serve as the official \u201cseed money\u201d to launch CECI\u2019s Developmental Capital Campaign, a project dedicated to constructing a new, hurricane-resilient school building on its five-acre campus. Following Hurricane Ian, which resulted in the loss of the school\u2019s primary facility, CECI has been operating with limited enrollment out of the restored Thompson Hall. The grant marks the first major step in its \u201c50 Years and Growing\u201d initiative to expand its capacity.<\/p>\n
