The inn is also known for its connection to Wallis Warfield Simpson and King Edward VIII. In 2022, the inn\u2019s manager, Jason Bryan, shared its significance. &#8220;People come in and ask is this the place Edward and Wallis were in. And I say yes, you know,&#8221; Bryan said.Edward VIII became king in 1936 but abdicated the throne months later to marry Wallis Warfield Simpson, a divorced American socialite. The Seminole Inn, once owned by Wallis\u2019 uncle Solomon Davies Warfield, became a place the couple would visit.  Your neighborhood: Local coverage from WPBF 25 NewsOriginal features of the inn, such as the Windsor Room, crown-shaped chandeliers, and hotel rooms, remain intact, including Room 29. &#8220;This is Room 29, this is the room the Wallis Simpson and Prince Edward would stay in for their dinner parties,&#8221; Bryan said. &#8220;The room also displays photos of the couple and a framed copy of His Majesty\u2019s Declaration of Abdication Act.&#8221;The Garcia Companies purchased the property last year, and CEO John Kellam shared their vision for the inn. &#8220;Our vision for the Seminole Inn is similar to what it originally was founded on, and that is a place where people can come and gather,&#8221; Kellam said.
