Peter Formica, who lives across from the venue, shared his relief over the quieter atmosphere. “Thankfully the noise is gone right now. Hopefully it continues to be gone, and thank you Gulf Coast News for helping us out,” Formica said. The venue addressed the concerns in the following statement, explaining the steps it is taking to reduce noise levels. “As a waterfront entertainment destination, Slipaway is committed to being both an enjoyable gathering place and a respectful neighbor. Our team operates within the City of Cape Coral\u2019s noise ordinances and actively monitors sound levels to ensure compliance.”After hearing concerns from nearby residents, we implemented additional steps to further limit noise, such as ending live music earlier in the evening and using a sound level meter.”We are temporarily pausing scheduled performances this week as we fine-tune our programming and evaluate technologies and other solutions to help minimize sound impact. We expect to share an update on our plans in the coming days.”We take great pride in creating an environment where locals and visitors can come together to enjoy talented live musicians and community. “We are grateful to our musicians, guests and fans for their ongoing support as we make these adjustments, and we will continue to listen and make thoughtful adjustments to our operations whenever possible while adhering to all local regulations.”Formica noted the noticeable change in noise levels. “It is very quiet out here right now and that’s why you see this big smile on my face. They’ve really toned down the music,” he said. Marshall Walsdorf, another Cape Coral resident, enjoys the music but understands the concerns of others. “As long as they can control it. That’s really the key. The sound does travel especially you know, whether it’s the wind or the humidity. That probably affects it a lot. But, it’s certainly, something that they need to keep an eye on,” Walsdorf said.
