JACKSONVILLE. Fla. (WFLA) \u2014 The Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office posted a viral body camera video<\/a> on Wednesday, which showed an officer in a tense situation who advocated for a man with five simple words: \u201cYou can get through it.\u201d <\/p>\n

JSO shared a reminder for those struggling with mental health about free and available resources, saying the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline can be reached by calling or texting 988.<\/p>\n

The body camera video shows a man on top of the Dames Point Bridge in Jacksonville who was \u201cready to take his own life\u201d before officers stepped in with compassion and guidance, JSO said.<\/p>\n

Officer Antonio Richardson asked to pray with the man and reached out his hand, saying \u201cwhatever you\u2019re going through, you can get through it,\u201d according to the video.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn that moment, our officers weren\u2019t the police,\u201d the sheriff\u2019s office said. \u201cThey were just people showing how much they care for another person.\u201d<\/p>\n

The man took Richardson\u2019s hand and stepped off of the bridge and into the officer\u2019s embrace.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are here for you,\u201d JSO said. \u201cWe care about you. We do what we do every day because we care about you.\u201d<\/p>\n
