{"id":25230,"date":"2025-10-29T15:29:08","date_gmt":"2025-10-29T15:29:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/25230\/"},"modified":"2025-10-29T15:29:08","modified_gmt":"2025-10-29T15:29:08","slug":"ringleader-arrested-for-vandalism-acts-across-the-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/25230\/","title":{"rendered":"Ringleader arrested for vandalism acts across the city"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">MIAMI  \u2014 Miami police have arrested a man who they said was the ringleader of a group of people responsible for vandalisms across the city.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">According to police, Paul Mario Hoyos, 37, is responsible for a vandalism that defaced the entire fa\u00e7ade of the vacant Vitas building at 100 South Biscayne Boulevard, along with a portion of Interstate 395 and other locations. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police said the Vitas and I-393 incidents occurred in late 2023, but there have also been recent incidents that have caused thousands of dollars in damages.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cDespite the (Vitas) building\u2019s demolition, the tireless work and relentless efforts of Miami Police Department detectives led to the apprehension of the primary offender,\u201d MPD said in a news release Wednesday. \u201cThe arrested ringleader is believed to have orchestrated numerous vandalism incidents throughout Miami-Dade County, many of which bared his tag insignia \u2018TESOE.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police said Hoyos, who was arrested Tuesday, faces charges for both the Vitas building case and the \u201chigh-profile\u201d graffiti vandalism on the I-395 overpass and its supporting structures.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Both locations are in the heart of downtown Miami\u2019s Eastern District, \u201can area visited by thousands of residents, commuters, and tourists daily,\u201d the news release stated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThe demolition of the Vitas building and the passage of time did not diminish our resolve,\u201d Police Chief Manny Morales said in a statement. \u201cOur detectives\u2019 unwavering commitment has removed a serial vandal from our streets, and we will continue pursuing all those involved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police confirmed that their investigation generated multiple leads, and Hoyos is one of several suspected offenders. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThe Miami Police Department extends sincere gratitude to the Downtown Development Authority and community leaders for their steadfast support throughout this complex investigation,\u201d the news release stated. \u201cTheir partnership has been instrumental in achieving this outcome.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Hoyos faces multiple charges, including criminal mischief, burglary of an unoccupied structure, trespassing and conducting business without a license.
