{"id":252723,"date":"2026-04-30T17:32:28","date_gmt":"2026-04-30T17:32:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/252723\/"},"modified":"2026-04-30T17:32:28","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T17:32:28","slug":"more-people-are-living-downtown-but-office-vacancies-remain-high","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/252723\/","title":{"rendered":"More people are living Downtown, but office vacancies remain high"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The new version of the annual State of Downtown report says Downtown Jacksonville\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/jaxtoday.org\/2025\/02\/10\/downtowns-development-progress\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">residential population<\/a> surpassed 9,000 in 2025, while office vacancy remained well above the national average and the levels of several Florida metros.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h941556-p2\">Released Wednesday by <a href=\"https:\/\/dtjax.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Downtown Vision Inc.<\/a>, the 2025 report says Downtown\u2019s population reached 9,228 in 2025, up 287 residents from the figure in the 2024-25 report and 1,571 from 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Jake Gordon, CEO of Downtown Vision, attributed the increase to residents moving into several multifamily projects that came online during 2025.
