Jamilette Santana says she was in the toy aisle with her 4- and 8-year-old daughters when she noticed a man passing behind her who appeared to be recording them.”When we make eye contact, and he notices that I notice what he’s doing, he automatically puts his phone in his pocket,” Santana said. The man then tried to walk out of the store, but she says her husband chased after him and confronted him before he could leave.Cell phone video of the confrontation shows the husband demanding to see the recordings.”Show me the video, bro!” Santana’s husband could be heard saying in the video she shared with WESH 2 News. “This right here was recording my daughter and my wife.”The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office was called to the store and arrested 21-year-old Dylan Ouellette. He was initially charged with loitering and disorderly conduct.According to the arrest report, Ouellette told deputies he thought the mother and daughters “looked cute” and started recording them. Deputies also noted he “had multiple recordings on his phone of different families.”A Walmart employee also provided a sworn statement, saying Ouellette told him, “I was recording little girls.”But the investigation didn’t stop there. After obtaining a search warrant for Ouellette’s phone, detectives found “hundreds of pictures and videos depicting child sexual abuse material,” according to the arrest affidavit.Detectives also found messages sent by Ouellette on the Telegram app, where he allegedly expressed a preference for girls aged 7 to 14, writing, “I would love to be able to a girl from each age in that range,” and, “I wish I had a younger sister. Just a little cutie I could on a regular basis.”Ouellette appeared before a judge Wednesday afternoon, now facing 50 counts of possession of child pornography. His bond was set at $35,000 per count, totaling $1,750,000.The judge ordered that Ouellette have no contact with anyone under 18, no access to electronic devices with internet capability, GPS monitoring, and that he not go to any places where children congregate, including schools, parks, libraries, and theme parks.Court records show Ouellette had a prior arrest by the Apopka Police Department in 2022, when he was 17, for possession of child pornography. He pleaded no contest and received a withhold of adjudication. He was sentenced to juvenile sex offender probation until age 21.In a statement to WESH 2 News, Ouellette’s attorney, Rajan Joshi of Joshi Law, said:”It’s too early to jump to conclusions. He’s a bright, young mechanical engineering student at UCF, and we plan to thoroughly review all the discovery and evidence and defend the case rigorously.”Santana says the incident traumatized her and has a warning for other parents.”Every time that you’re out with your kids, always look at your surroundings,” she said. “Always look at the people around you because there are really weird people out here.”Ouellette remained in the Seminole County jail as of Wednesday night.

      SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. —

A couple’s decision to confront a man they caught recording their young daughters at a Walmart near Oviedo led to the discovery of hundreds of child sexual abuse images on his phone, according to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened Sunday at the Walmart on Deep Lake Road.
