(WCTV) &#8211; A Tallahassee man is behind bars in connection with<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/2026\/04\/29\/roadway-area-fred-george-road-connector-drive-closed-leon-co-deputies-conduct-investigation\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/2026\/04\/29\/roadway-area-fred-george-road-connector-drive-closed-leon-co-deputies-conduct-investigation\/\"> a shooting that happened near Fred George Road and Connector Drive on Wednesday<\/a>, according to the Leon County Sheriff\u2019s Office. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">D\u2019Ysious Simmons is facing an attempted first-degree murder charge and possession of a machine gun in connection to the incident, LCSO says. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"D\u2019Ysious Simmons' mugshot.\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/NIJBJQSFY5DGBB7I5FRZFGCC2U.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/>D\u2019Ysious Simmons&#8217; mugshot.(Leon County Jail)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to deputies, the shooting unfolded at 11:49 a.m. after the victim reported \u201cbeing followed by another vehicle and shot at.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The victim was not hurt, but their car was riddled with bullets, according to detectives. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The incident prompted roadway closures as deputies investigated at the scene. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-center\">More on crime in our area:<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">After the investigation, LCSO determined Simmons was the suspected shooter.
