victim\u2019s son arrested"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text text--small text--normal text--primary\">Published:\u00a0May 1, 2026 at 10:49 AM<\/p>\n<p>lead-art-block.fullscreen-enterExpand<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"eager\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/L2NUYNH6NNESHKYE6LAUAX3RIU.jpeg\"  width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\"\/>(WPLG) <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">HIALEAH, Fla.  \u2014 A woman suffered serious injuries Thursday night after she was attacked by a dog in Hialeah, police confirmed to Local 10 News.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/espanol\/2026\/05\/01\/policia-trasladan-en-helicoptero-a-mujer-al-hospital-tras-ataque-de-perro-en-hialeah-arrestan-al-dueno-del-perro\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/espanol\/2026\/05\/01\/policia-trasladan-en-helicoptero-a-mujer-al-hospital-tras-ataque-de-perro-en-hialeah-arrestan-al-dueno-del-perro\/\">Leer en espa\u00f1ol<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">According to police, the dog attack was reported at a home in the 1100 block of West 70th Place.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police said officers arrived at the scene and found the victim, Ana Leyva, 58, suffering from multiple dog bites to her arms and legs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">She was the airlifted by Hialeah Fire Rescue to Jackson Memorial Hospital\u2019s Ryder Trauma Center.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cDuring the investigation, officers identified the dog involved in the attack and observed multiple dogs on the property in poor condition, including signs of malnourishment, lack of clean water, and unsanitary living conditions,\u201d an HPD spokesperson said in an email to Local 10. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police confirmed that the dogs\u2019 owner, Jairon Alvarez, 22, who is Leyva\u2019s son, was taken into custody on charges of animal cruelty and resisting arrest without violence. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Miami-Dade Animal Services removed 10 dogs from the property as part of the ongoing investigation, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>\ud83c\udfe0 News From Your Neighborhood<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-article-body__copyright\">Copyright 2026 by WPLG Local10.com &#8211;
