Shelter staff say she recently arrived from a partner rescue in Puerto Rico and has been adjusting to her new surroundings over the past two weeks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Kendra is still a bit timid, but she\u2019s beginning to open up. Staff say she did well during a recent car ride and has been friendly with people she meets, making her way around to greet visitors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Because of her background, Kendra may do best in a home with another dog. Matthew from the Humane Society says dogs from the islands are often well-socialized with other animals, and having a companion could help her feel more comfortable and settle in faster. Another dog could also help guide her through basic training.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The shelter is open seven days a week, starting at 11 a.m., with animal visits available until late afternoon.
