{"id":256064,"date":"2026-05-03T01:27:07","date_gmt":"2026-05-03T01:27:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/256064\/"},"modified":"2026-05-03T01:27:07","modified_gmt":"2026-05-03T01:27:07","slug":"fsu-celebrates-spring-2026-graduates-with-messages-of-resilience-leadership-and-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/256064\/","title":{"rendered":"FSU celebrates spring 2026 graduates with messages of resilience, leadership and service"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The ceremonies took place during\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/175.fsu.edu\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Florida\u00a0State\u2019s 175th anniversary year<\/a>, as the university\u00a0reflects\u00a0upon\u00a0its history and looks ahead.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Student speakers also reflected on the meaning of the moment and the transition ahead.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs you walk into whatever comes next \u2026 you don\u2019t need to have it all figured out right now,\u201d Student Body Vice President Natalia Ramirez-Romero\u00a0told graduates on Friday. \u201cThat in-between feeling \u2026\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0not a sign that\u00a0you\u2019re\u00a0lost.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0a sign that\u00a0you\u2019re\u00a0growing.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>FSU\u00a0Trustee and Student Body President Carson Dale\u00a0graduated Saturday\u00a0and\u00a0also\u00a0addressed his fellow students.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring your time\u00a0at\u00a0Florida\u00a0State, you\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0just go to school. You lived a life here,\u201d Dale said. \u201cBecause of your involvement, time and effort,\u00a0FSU\u00a0is not the same place it was when you arrived, and neither are you.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Incoming Student Body President Ian Seibert spoke at the 2 p.m. Saturday ceremony.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re amid a very promising time here at\u00a0FSU, and our momentum is not going unnoticed,\u201d Seibert said. \u201cWe\u2019re\u00a0making waves around the country in many industries: health, business, science, engineering, research, innovation, music and more.\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0confident that you will carry that momentum to wherever you end up next. There is no better time to be a graduate\u00a0of\u00a0this preeminent university.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony included participation from\u00a0members of the Seminole Tribe of Florida\u00a0Color Guard, reflecting\u00a0FSU\u2019s\u00a0longstanding partnership with the Tribe.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Graduates\u00a0included 6,732 bachelor\u2019s recipients, along with students earning 1,523 master\u2019s and specialist degrees, 261 doctoral degrees and law degrees across a wide range of disciplines.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As the ceremonies concluded, McCullough reminded graduates of their place in the university\u2019s broader community.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith more than 420,000 living alumni, no matter where you go, chances are you won\u2019t be far from a fellow\u00a0FSU\u00a0graduate,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The College of Law will hold its Spring 2026 Commencement Ceremony at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 3, at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center, with a reception to follow on the Green at the College of Law.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>FSU\u00a0Panama City will host its spring commencement ceremony at 5 p.m. (CST) Sunday, May 3, at the Atlantis Center in Lynn Haven, welcoming all Panama City campus graduates, as well as those who completed degrees in the\u00a0previous\u00a0summer and fall semesters. Former state Sen.
