The latest photos from aerial photographer bioreconstruct<\/a> on X reveal the initial stages of demolition work on the defunct Islands of Adventure area.<\/p>\n

Lost Continent Demolition Update\"Demolition<\/a><\/p>\n

Early signs of demolition work and other construction efforts are underway at Universal Islands of Adventure\u2019s Lost Continent area. Universal first confirmed changes coming to the land back in September 2025<\/a>, and in more recent weeks, much of the land\u2019s largest buildings including the showbuilding for Poseidon\u2019s Fury and the former Eighth Voyage of Sinbad theater have been walled off. <\/p>\n

Now, thanks to a bird\u2019s eye view from aerial photographer bioreconstruct<\/a> on X, we can see progress on the reconstruction project behind the fences at both of these major sites.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s take a closer look at the two major development areas.<\/p>\n

Poseidon\u2019s Fury

Much of the queue area for the former Poseidon\u2019s Fury walkthrough attraction has been ripped up completely. The entryway\u2019s ornate water feature has been drained, exposing the full scope of the rockwork at the front of the attraction entrance. <\/p>\n

Eighth Voyage of Sinbad
\n\"Demolition<\/a><\/p>\n

The Eighth Voyage of Sinbad theater sits to the left of the Poseidon\u2019s Fury showbuilding, and so far the immediate area around the facade has seen more dramatic demolition and other ongoing redevelopment than other sections of Lost Continent.<\/p>\n

Various team members and construction crews can be spotted around and behind both buildings. As of these photos, we have not seen any heavy-duty wrecking equipment or other large industrial vehicles on-site. <\/p>\n

Universal has not yet confirmed details on the full nature of updates or the replacement theme coming to Lost Continent.<\/p>\n

\nLost Continent History\"People<\/a><\/p>\n

The Lost Continent used to include three sections: the medieval Merlinwood, an Arabian marketplace called Sindbad\u2019s Bazaar, and the Atlantis-style Lost City. Merlinwood was transformed into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in 2010, with its existing roller-coasters renamed from Flying Unicorn to Flight of the Hippogriff and Dueling Dragons to Dragon Challenge. The latter permanently closed in 2017 to be replaced by Hagrid\u2019s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure.<\/p>\n

In Sindbad\u2019s Bazaar was the stunt stage show The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad. This closed in 2018, although the set remains fully intact and the theater has been used as a Cool Zone<\/a>. The bazaar also has the interactive Mystic Fountain. This year How to Train Your Dragon took over Sindbad\u2019s Bazaar<\/a> in honor of the live-action remake\u2019s release.<\/p>\n
