Right now, the Magic Kingdom<\/a> arguably feels more like a massive construction zone than it does a premier theme park, at least in the area surrounding the massive sites where Piston Peak<\/a> and Villains Land<\/a> will thrill guests in a few years.<\/p>\n

\"\"Magic Kingdom crowds<\/p>\n

However, just because these projects are still a while away doesn\u2019t mean that nothing is going on at Disney World\u2019s first theme park. In fact, there\u2019s a ton going on at the \u201cMost Magical Place on Earth\u201d this summer!<\/p>\n

Buzz Is BACK!<\/p>\n

After a several-month-long refurbishment, Buzz Lightyear\u2019s Space Ranger Spin returned in early April. The attraction\u2019s refurbishment brought several new features to Space Ranger Spin, including new ride vehicles, complete with new, removable blasters! Said blasters can be aimed at newly refurbished \u201cZ\u201d targets throughout the ride.<\/p>\n

Perhaps the most notable change is a new opening scene featuring the original robot character named Buddy, which ensures that \u201cdeparting Space Rangers are fully prepared for their mission (by) enthusiastically providing encouragement, final system checks on their Star Cruisers, and a chance to hone their blaster aim.\u201d<\/p>\n

The returning Buzz Lightyear attraction has slotted into the park\u2019s Tier 2 Lightning Lane Multi Pass options, and is open during Early Entry.<\/p>\n

\nThe \u201cWildest Ride in the Wilderness Roars\u201d Again<\/p>\n

Following a refurbishment that lasted well over a year, Big Thunder Mountain is BACK. Upon reopening, the legendary E-Ticket features updated tracks and trains that \u201cpreserve the attraction\u2019s classic storytelling and trademark hootin\u2019 an\u2019 hollerin\u2019 energy\u201d while improving the ride experience. These changes \u2013 and a \u201ccomprehensive review from their safety teams\u201d have even allowed Disney to lower the ride\u2019s height requirement from 40 inches to 38 inches.<\/p>\n

Big Thunder is going to be part of the park\u2019s Lightning Lane Multi Pass Tier 1, and will NOT be offered as part of Entry Entry.<\/p>\n

\nA Long-Abandoned Restaurant is Coming Back to Life in a Rootin\u2019 Tootin\u2019 Way<\/p>\n

The Diamond Horseshoe \u2014 one of the Magic Kingdom\u2019s oldest and longest neglected eateries \u2014 is getting new life with a Toy Story-themed Jessie\u2019s Roundup show during the Cool Kids\u2019 Summer<\/a> promotion.<\/p>\n

According to Disney, Jessie\u2019s Roundup will be led by \u201ceveryone\u2019s favorite yodelin\u2019 cowgirl\u201d Jessie, who will help guests \u201ccraft, dance and yodel their day away\u201d with Woody and friends in a \u201chigh-spirited Western revue!\u201d The most notable aspect of the show to longtime Disney fans, however, is where it\u2019s being staged: The Diamond Horseshoe, a legendary \u2014 and for the last few decades legendarily underutilized \u2014 space at Disney World.<\/p>\n

\"\"Jessie in Magic Kingdom<\/p>\n

The show will make the first live entertainment in the Diamond Horseshoe in over two decades. From the Magic Kingdom\u2019s opening in 1971 through 2004, the restaurant \u2014 which has alternated between table service and quick service throughout its history \u2014 has hosted several incarnations of the Diamond Horseshoe Revue\u2026 and Goofy\u2019s Country Dancin\u2019 Jamboree. One of those things is certainly not like the other.<\/p>\n

\nExtended Evening Hours<\/p>\n

The Magic Kingdom will be available as part of Extended Evening hours, where guests staying at Disney Deluxe Tier or Deluxe Villa resorts can access select theme parks for two extra hours after the park closes to the general public. Scheduled summer 2026 dates for the park confirmed so far include: May 6th, 20th, 27th, June 3rd, 10th, 17th.<\/p>\n

\"\"Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away
\nSpooky Season Begins<\/p>\n

While it may feel like summer hasn\u2019t even started yet, we\u2019re only a few months away from the launch of Mickey\u2019s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!<\/a><\/p>\n

The annual Halloween extravaganza kicks off on August 7th, and will also be offered on August 11th, 14th, 18th, 21st, 23rd, 25th, 28th, 30th, September 1st, 4th, 8th, 11th, 13th, 15th, 18th, 20th, 22nd, 24th, 25th, 27th, 29th, and October 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 9th, 13th, 15th, 16th, 18th, 22nd, 23rd, 25th, 27th, 29th, and 31st. Tickets go on sale for Walt Disney hotel guests on May 5th, and for other guests on May 12th. Just be forewarned that they\u2019ll cost a bit more than in past years.<\/a><\/p>\n

\nBONUS: There May Even Be Some MAJOR Magic Kingdom News 3,000 Miles Away!<\/p>\n

The 2026 edition of the D23 Ultimate Fan Event is set to take place in Anaheim from August 14th \u2013 16th, and we\u2019re thinking that the park\u2019s panel could reveal some new information \u2013 including opening timelines and ride names \u2013 on the aforementioned Piston Peak and Villains Land\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026 and maybe even some news on the announced yet-seemingly-stalled Carousel of Progress\/Walt Disney animatronic enhancements.<\/p>\n
