(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysuncoast.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.mysuncoast.com\/\">WWSB<\/a>) &#8211; JetBlue is expanding service from Fort Lauderdale as other airlines move into markets once served by Spirit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The airline said it is adding 11 destinations from Fort Lauderdale, which had been a major Spirit hub in Florida.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Frontier said it also is adding routes in places where Spirit used to fly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysuncoast.com\/2026\/05\/04\/spirit-airlines-ends-operations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.mysuncoast.com\/2026\/05\/04\/spirit-airlines-ends-operations\/\">Spirit Airlines Ends Operations<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Both airlines said they are offering special \u201crescue\u201d fares and customer perks aimed at travelers affected by Spirit\u2019s shutdown.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">JetBlue said it is trying to \u201cfill the void\u201d left behind as Spirit stopped operating.
