Broward County, FL – A vehicle crash into a canal in Broward County led to a rapid rescue effort as emergency crews worked to save a driver trapped in the water.<\/p>\n
According to the Broward Sheriff\u2019s Office, the incident occurred in Pompano Beach near South Palm Aire Drive. <\/p>\n
Authorities said a woman drove through a fence and into a canal located near a commercial area. <\/p>\n
The reason for the crash has not been determined.<\/p>\n
Deputies, along with fire rescue personnel and an off duty firefighter, responded quickly and entered the water to reach the vehicle. <\/p>\n
Officials said responders broke a window to gain access and were able to remove the driver before the car became fully submerged.<\/p>\n
The woman was the only occupant of the vehicle and was not reported to have sustained serious injuries.<\/p>\n
Emergency crews evaluated her at the scene following the rescue.<\/p>\n
Officials noted the vehicle sank shortly after she was pulled to safety.<\/p>\n
