{"id":258598,"date":"2026-05-05T01:03:30","date_gmt":"2026-05-05T01:03:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/258598\/"},"modified":"2026-05-05T01:03:30","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T01:03:30","slug":"death-investigation-after-body-pulled-from-retention-pond-tampa-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/258598\/","title":{"rendered":"Death investigation after body pulled from retention pond: Tampa police"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TAMPA, Fla. \u2014 Tampa police said they are conducting a death investigation after a body was found in a retention pond on Monday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Officers responded to a call about a body in the water just before 8 a.m. on May 4 in the 2200 block of North Westshore Boulevard by Tampa&#8217;s International Plaza.<\/p>\n<p>Police said they found a man at the scene, as the Tampa Police Department&#8217;s dive team (TPD) responded to recover the body. <\/p>\n<p>Detectives are working to confirm the man\u2019s identity as of 9:40 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>TPD said the death is not believed to be suspicious in nature.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/ROBERT.BOYD.png\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Lightning fans share cheers and tears in Thunder Alley amid Game 7<\/p>\n<p>Thunder Alley was jumping off the decibel level Sunday night as more than 2,500 fans crammed together to cheer on the Lightning during game seven.
